Day 5 of sobriety.

Hello,

I am on day 5 of sobriety and I feel absolutely amazing. I was drinking a case to a 30 pack of beer for at least the last 6 years. I was expecting horrible things to happen when I finally had enough of drinking to quit. I am not sure if this is normal but I have had really no withdrawal symptoms. A little stomach discomfort and constipation, which the later passed today. I do not even have the desire to drink, could I be going through a delayed reaction, it just dosen't seem right to feel this good.

5 days is great!!! You may have some fatigue in the days to come, but it's great that you are feeling so good. Just know that if you don't feel good in the next weeks, it's your body getting rid of the toxins, and if you feel really bad, do not hesitate to contact a medical professional.

That being said, good for you on your journey to sobriety!

Congratulations on day 5 Longenough, I think we all re act differently. I craved sweet stuff when I stopped drinking, I was told it replaces the sugar from alcohol. I had sleepless nights, too. But they passed.

I'm pleased it's going well, it does make you feel good, doesn't it.

Haven't remembered how good it feels to be sober and the not ashamed of being three sheets to the wind every day, even if I was the only one that saw it. Freedom is a precious thing.
