Felt Horrible through Thanksgiving.

I am used to having 4 days off to drink and feel good. Now instead of 4 days off to drink and release. I stayed in and didn't drink. My drinking buddies texted me, but I ignored them. The good news is I didn't mess my pants this weekend and I didn't get a DUI. So that is good.

Good for you! The holidays definitely try the strength it takes to maintain sobriety.

Thank you. I am reading about people getting DUI's and it is making the holidays abit easier to swallow. My family does love me so I know for myself and them staying sober is the best and and it isn't good in jail.

great resilience! I just looked at the inmate roster for the county I live in. LoTs of holiday DUI's ! That is a great reminder to not drink!

Hey Mcribb-

It is definitely tougher during the holidays. For me, I'm still at the point where nothing sounds all too festive without the booze. I hope one day that all changes, but either way it's still better then when I was a drunk.

Yea, no DUIs is a good thing. I'll have to admit that I really did not enjoy mine all that much from a several years ago. Not to mentioned the cost of it all.

I think things will get better, for both of us, with some more time.

Hang in there-
