One week sober

Just wanted to thank everyone for their support on SR this week. I had alot of challenges this week. During Thanksgiving - my entire family was drinking and I made it through. On Saturday, I went out with friends and drank soda at the bars we went to. I am grateful for being able to check-in on my progress, and appreciate the support from everyone. Looking forward to building on this.

Great job keep it up. Lil advice don't get over confident. Your early on in this sobriety and I see you in places that my lead to relapse. Just remember even the strongest can fall.

A week is great, as you have struggled to garner a lot of sober time.

I'm not sure what your tripping point in sobriety is. But I have to wonder if going out with friends, being around alcohol early in your recovery is a challenge for you.

I had to make significant changes when I got sober. Friends in bars...not in the equation. I would just suggest you look back over your struggles and see where you can make changes this time.

Good luck.

I had tickets to a basketball game so we went to a bar before the game. I am glad I survived that night - but I agree with everyone that I shouldn't make things so hard on myself. Bars are my biggest temptation, and I need to avoid them.

Your getting stronger! I caved on Thanksgiving my first time around drinking people. I can't be around it. Keep it up.

I can do all things through he who strengthens me

Congratulations. I also have recently passed the one week mark. I can appreciate how challenging this is. Good job, and keep at it! And, make it easy for yourself where you can. Stay away from bars. I'm doing the same, and while I "miss it", I know this would be harder if I was so close to my old haunts.
