Almost two months in and I blew it. You really can't have just one can you? Easily fooled. You can't have your cake and eat it too. What was I thinking?! Really. Can you all give me some good reasons here for not drinking? Because I'll get right back to drinking again. Daily.

I think you probably have a good list of your own today

The bottom line for me was I could be who I wanted to be...or I could drink...but never both.

Because it progresses and destroys lives!
I learned the hard way you can't have just one too. I have't been sober past 9 days in a couple years. It got away from me without me even realizing it. Scary.

A good reason not to drink is you will die soon if you keep swallowing the poison....and so will I if I don't stay sober. I've seen do many people (friends & family) die of this disease! It's just waiting for it's next victim.

Have you seen this documentary? http://youtu.be/lwv7Utcf-gM

Watch it and let me know what you think. It will give you plenty of reasons. Good luck! Never give up! :-)

How about the fact that you just put together two months of sober time? You have a choice today just like you did those 60 days you didn't drink....skip the self pity and just don't pick up. We are here with you.

When you stopped drinking almost two months ago, at that time, what was your plan for your future use of alcohol?

Because you know where this goes, and you know you don't want to be there. You deserve better.

Alcohol was eventually going to kill me, I couldn't control it so it was all or nothing!!

On the upside though life has been pretty good since leaving alcohol behind, it's not a requirement I found to have a happy life!!

That's certainly what it feels like sometimes. Like someone's out to kill you. After this last relapse I get it.

Totally agree with you Dee. I know this. Which is why I say you can't have your cake and eat it too when it comes to alcohol use.

Plan was to stop drinking. Period. I need a better plan HenryK. Need to reach out when my mind thinks I can drink because I know it will happen again.

The bolded part above is what you need to remind yourself. Log onto SR if you need to. That's what we are here for.
