This morning my wife and I were going over last minute things about TDay dinner. Our conversation, was very pleasant. In years past around holidays, especially meal planning - was contentious. Drunk fly was really good at cooperating......ME ME ME. Here's how I want the Bird cooked! Those are the green beans I like!!

I would emphatically state - here's what fly wants! None of the canned cranberry, but fresh! Don't use too much spice on the blah, blah, blah......Many times those "conversations" would end like last year. Wife stating - Why the hell don't you stuff THIS in your Bird!!

Wow, what an arse I was. Today she commented - how about we make this or that with this.... Sounds lovely. We had a great time planning together and it was joyful!

I know many are going through a really tough time this weekend. For me, I have decided to stay out of myself at all costs. This Tday isn't mine.....it's dedicated to my loved ones. I won't step in the bear traps of family life - not on this Tday. I will seek to understand others and not care if I am understood. I have learned it is by giving we receive!

So, to all newcomers and those struggle I ask one question;
Are you in, and do you pledge simply to be nice to those around you and not worry about things that don't matter???!!!!

I will Stuff my bird this year with gratitude I have one to stuff, a roof over my head, family who is mostly sane, great football to watch and peace.

Years back my daughter had a foreign exchange student. She was around 9-10. My daughter could not understand why she knew nothing of Thanksgiving! The arrogance of the Americans. On behalf of our country, I am sorry about the revolution - please come back
