Didnt wait for Monday to be day 1!
I just wanted to thank everyone who yesterday said why wait until Monday to stop drinking.
It's 5.05pm in the UK and I've just got back from the shop with Pepsi Max, crisps and cheese, but no wine!!!! My daughter gets dropped off at 5.30pm and then I'm not able to go back to the shop!
I feel nervous, excited ...... I'm really doing day one again, but I'm doing it now! Not tomorrow.
I hope you all have a lovely day/evening and thank you again.

Thank you!
I'm going to try to plan each day this week so that it involves lots of fun activities with my daughter after school and going to the gym and swimming when I can.
Do you have any other ideas you could share?
Thanks ever so much.

Well, like I said, AA is great. I went to a meeting a day for 90 days--it was something positive I was doing for my recovery every single day. I read recovery books, I spent time in places that didn't remind me of alcohol.
I did a lot of my drinking at home, so a meeting during those times also got me out of that rut.

Congratulations on your decision, Natasha
I found diet fizz really helpful so your Pepsi Max is a good call - It's only a few hours - and even if you do have a bit of difficulty dropping off to sleep - when you wake up you'll have to pinch yourself to check if how good you feel is actually real! Well I do anyway
All the best mate - if you do feel desperate just log on here for a couple of minutes or try the crash course in AVRT.......

It's 7.45pm. I've kissed my daughter goodnight and I've got into bed too. I'm all snuggled and I'm going to treat myself to a film.
I'm feeling good right now and right now is what matters at this very moment!
