Won Battle In My War
Hello all:
Tonight my hubby went bowling with friends. I stayed with our daughter and the daughter of our friends. Before leaving they drank a couple of beers and cocktails. When my husband poured a Guiness, I salivated. Then, when the couple brought a bottle of high-end Tequila they asked me to make the drinks (I used to bartend, that's why) but I told my hubby that he also made yummy drinks and that I was already doing other stuff (I was making 2 cheesecakes and cleaning up) so that I would prefer if he made them. When they left they left a poured almost full beer. The high-end Tequila trumps the beer so notrmies can just leave a full one. My AV told me to drink it, I was going to be alone with the little girls, the good old "nobody would know...".
I would know and I am the only one that matters I this journey.
I dumped it. Now I am just watching tv after putting the two girls down for bed. I am so happy to have me time and it is also great that my husband gets to go out. He has been working really hard and a night out will do him well. He never goes out without me. He's not driving so that is also good. I hope that he isn't annoying when he gets home. Sometimes he is in a silly harmless way.
Just wanted to share this small battle in my war. I WON!
I do what I want!!! And I want to do this!!!

Nowsthetime...whoa, that's powerful of you!
I felt the same way at a few work functions last week...about when do those "hellish thoughts" stop popping in your head. The old reflex of grabbing a drink had to be overridden since alcohol was everywhere, free and on everyone's breath. But I had my overpriced, yet free fizzy water, great conversation and an honesty to my night that is priceless. Nice job, NTT.
