I was 6 months sober. Not anymore! Ugh!
Ok. I quit drinking in March. Went all the way through till september alcohol free. Then september came and snap. I have been drinking 12 to eighteen beers everynight now. So thats abot ten week straight.
I dont want to do it. I dont know what happened, but now I am back into my same old routine!
I still go to the gym and excersize. My gut is back!
Dont know how to stop again.
Last time it was just cold turkey. The first two days were hard. But i managed.
How do I get motivated to quit again!!!!
Thanks guys!!

I'am feeling your pain Hunter.
I had 5 months sober...then I "snapped".
I dont think we (you) need to anylize it to see what went wrong. It happened. Now it's a matter of getting yourself back into the Sober Mindframe and get that Day 1 behind you. EAT!...Drink WATER...LOTS of water and stay occupied is going to be my game plan.
Keep going to the gym. If there is some depression going on with you, the gym is the best thing for that. Try to go everyday...and give it a rest on say...Sunday's.
In summary...work to get your head "Back in the game" and make that day 1...that week 1...that month 1 ASAP !
Good luck to you and we're rooting for you.

Well Hunter...
...what made you quit back in March ?
Give that some thought and try to put your finger on it...and re-kindle that flame.
You had a good reason (whatever it was) to quit in March and is just as good a reason to quit now.

Glad you've come back Hunter. Were you using any kind of formal plan during your last 5 months? Along with just "not drinking" most of us need to work on other underling problems too, through therapy/meetings/self help, etc.

Hi.
Most times it’s futile to scare an active alcoholic with facts.
I have first hand knowledge of that but fortunately those around me told me about the “advantages” of continued drinking. It includes a good possibility of a wet brain, mental institution, prison sentence, continued less liver and pancreas function and high cancer possibilities of a lot of parts of the body. Add in the loss of family, job, home and self is also involved.
If those things were avoided I’d sure continue with having a miserable life that gets worse each day.
Fortunately I got help and today enjoy life one day at a time in a row.
GOOD LUCK AND BE WELL

ya, i stopped again after that. had it under control. And then bam.!
Nothing really made me quit, i just wanted to. I have been drinking for I bet at least over 20 years. It was time to take a break.
But now i am back at it again.
Gonna try and start day 1 today! See what happens

You have to want to be sober MORE than you want to drink.
I am sorry you are feeling this way. I have been there many times and probably could have wrote this exact thread over 100 times.
There comes a time when you know it is just the end. For the moment you just surrender and try with all your might to build a new sober life. That's when you start a new beginning. Its not easy but will be totally worth it.
Hang in there Hunter. You can stop the madness any time and you never have to feel this way again! Its all up to you!
