Breaking up with my boyfriend

Yeah..the title says it all..my ex had an accident last year and we had a really hard time..I know I made a mistake getting involved in a new relationship so soon..he is a painter and he smokes pot like 3-4 times a day..he works nights and sleeps during the day. .that was really hard for me staying sober and be with him.But now..I'm feeling sad and lonely and just want to drink something. .sorry for the long post..I thought maybe it helps if I post this here.

I can understand that it would be hard to stay sober in that situation and I'm glad that you made the decision to take care of yourself and your recovery.

I'm sure it hurts now aistar buit it sounds like the right decision to me too.

Stay sober though. Drinking over exes doesn't make the pain any better - it just keeps it raw and hurting which means we drink more. It's a vicious circle. Avoid it

I'm starting to walk the same path. I got sober and he didn't. I need to learn to make my sobriety a priority over everything else. I worked too hard this time to earn it
