50 Days
Wow...never thought I could do this. I will say it hasn't been the easiest thing I have done, but will say that as time goes on it definitely gets easier.
I know there is no way I could have gone this far without my fiancé being so supportive.
As much as I miss my wine, the thought of having some almost frightens me. I have finally gained control of my emotions( good and bad) and am experiencing them sober. The thought of altering my mind freaks me out now. Weird.
I will say though that I am realizing that cravings are becoming less and less, but that there are still times that a glass of wine seems missing, like with a nice meal....or sitting in font of the fire...decorated Xmas tree...but I have to remember that all those times can be enjoyed without a drink.
Here's to many more sober days!

Congratulations! I am still hanging in there with you too! I didn't think I would last this long, but it seems to get a little easier each day. I actually had to look at my day counter app because I wasn't paying attention to the number of days.
congratulations!!
you know what else is nice to sit down by the christmas tree with? Ginger ale. Or any number of festive, spiced holiday teas.
In fact.... it's a lot MORE enjoyable in the long run because you remember it all, you get to fully experience the feelings, you get to be present and aware and you get to contribute the full YOU instead of the drunken you.
Everything feels scary to do without alcohol.... until you start doing it and realize that you've actually missed out all these years on a lot of living and that - surprise, surprise!!! - life can be lived without drinking posion!!!
keep up the great work.
