Best Gravy Ever!

I know this sounds dumb, but being sober helped me make the best gravy ever. Seriously, you know how your mom/grandma said stay here and stir this for me for like 10 minutes. At the time you didn't know why. This time making supper I did it right. Took my time low and slow. Then bam best gravy ever. A hidden benifit of soberness. I just wanted to share

Nice going, Rachinator. I'm with Serenidad - any mashed potatoes to go with that gravy?

My mom made the best brown gravy, but I didn't inherit that gene from her. I usually just buy mine from Grandy's or Luby's or some other cafeteria.

Now, I can make a decent giblet gravy using the turkey neck, liver and gizzards.

I was the same way. Just by the canned stuff It's all good. Then one of the few last solid meals my husband requested (before his surgery on wednesday) Make the meatballs and gray your mom makes. Then I channeled my Mom (not dead) and bam it happened. I just can see my mom calm as can be. Just chillin' and it happened. Before I tried even sober it turned out meh but not OMG. Now I made the OMG gravy. It is a small victory in a world war inside me.

Gravy, mmm. We have Bisto, it's a powdered granules, that's pretty good if you mix it with some meat juice. Can't make gravy from scratch though.

Sounds yum, Rach. Wanna share the recipe ?

What's poutine, Nuu ?

A French Canadian dish that has well..swept the country enough to be simply Canadian (but the Quebecois call it theirs).

French fries smothered with gravy and cheese curds..... essentially heart attack on a plate.

I avoided it in disgust for years...until I tried it (ya..I think I was drinking)...

It's awesome.

My wife is quebecoise, there at the moment. There is a genuine regional colloquialism, so theyre not voiced as cheese curds but cheese *urds

Just sharing 😊

Ah. I often have chips (fries) and gravy, it's common in the UK, especially Northern England.

Not sure about the cheese curds, but I ll give anything a go, thanks, Nuu.
