Son graduates from Rehab

Son graduated from Rehab yesterday. I've had very minimal contact with him during this time b/c I was pissed when he checked out of the last rehab early. I was determined to give nothing money, time, energy, effort, advice, permission, feedback, even a conversation (which may seem harsh) as I really felt used, mistreated, taken for granted, and wanted some cooling down time.

I know he has miles, and miles, to go and that every day he will have to make a conscious decision, but I'm proud of him and in some ways of me for standing my ground.

You don't sound harsh qwer, you sound human. If your son continues working on acceptance and sobriety, everything will work out fine. If you continue working on acceptance and serenity, you'll continue walking your road to recovery, too

That's wonderful. Sometimes we have to really let go for them to make progress. Congratulations!

wonderful news! As a Momma, it is so hard not to want to step in and 'fix it". The hardest part is letting go, but there is joy when we see them take the steps on their own!
