on moderation
For the past while before I committed to sobriety I was kind of proud of how I was able to moderate. I was chatting with my accountability partner and somewhere in the middle of explaining the system of measuring to the ml and watching the clock to time between drinks I "heard it out loud" for the first time and got embarrassed and felt foolish and faltered off. She smiled and said, "It sounds like moderating is a lot more work than just not drinking." It was an eye opener about how knowing something and actually putting it out there to someone else can make such a difference on perspective, so it seems like for me that total honesty is going to be really key in having success.
Ending Day 3 in good spirits. Just thought I'd share.

moderation is so unsatisfying, I always wanted more more more. It is easier and less annoying to fight regular cravings and not drink than to drink and fight mega obsessive cravings from hell that come on as soon as I have the first sip.
