Fatigue and general Weaknees
Hi,
I'm into my 2nd week of sobriety (I had 6 years then fell off for a year).
Since quitting I've had this fairly constant feeling of general weakness in my body, more pronounced in my legs, coupled with an overall feeling of anxiety.
Not quite sure what to make of it, but it has been a concern. Seeing the Dr tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences.

I figured. I don't really recall feeling like this the first time round. The legs are the most uncomfortable.
I'm taking supplements including a lot of B12. I'm very active. Ride my bike 100's of miles a week.
Lesson learned, lets do this recovery thing just the once.

Hey chimpersneak,
Actually in my case, it was the unusual fatigue, that I was experiencing, that was cause to see my doctor. I later learned that it was due to excessive drinking, which caused some temporary damage to my liver, thus causing me to feel very fatigued & tired.
If you were fine, and this all started once to stopped drinking, then it does not sound like what I went through, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyhow.

Wow, thank you for posting this! I was going to post about my weakness/tiredness/anxiety after I spent some time reading posts on here. I just finished a very miserable 10th day. I didn't know what to do with myself besides take it easy and pray that it would pass. I was also experiencing dizziness and nausea. I made myself eat well as I was afraid of feeling weaker from not eating. I drank tons of water too. I've been sleeping so much. I'm very unmotivated and I've only worked out on the elliptical 3 times since day one. I hope we all feel better tomorrow!

I felt like a cooked spaghetti noodle for a month. What was interesting though was if I hit to the gym I could do my hour on the treadmill. Other than that? I spent lots of time in bed. I think it was my brain healing. It's still healing at four months.
Im on day 2 at the moment.. All I can say is, I have no energy or motivation what so ever (and I'm 25) I haven't been to the gym, nor work and have just been at home in a sad state..
All I wanna to do is rest n take it easy until I feel like the worse of withdrawal is over and never touch a drink again.

I am no longer shocked by the progressive nature of this condition and the worsening of the physical effects. I have always been resilient until quite suddenly I found myself in hospital twice in short order. Wheelchair bound (indestructible me!!!) being pushed around by my sister and my partner.
malnutrition, dehydration and general debility.
Brought about only by my continued drinking.
Better now and much fitter, but right back there fast if I pick up.
That knowledge bolsters my resolve.
No more Mr Ironman for me!.
