Tell hubby you want to drive his car.You are now responsible to get everyone home safe....including you.

One wouldn't be okay for me. One wine would mean I'm back to drinking. There was never such a thing as one for me. Oh maybe a handful of times but that wasn't the norm.

I've narrowed my choices down to 2 simple options. Do I want be a drunk or don't I?
I gave up on that oh what the heck who cares or you can just have a few attitude. Been there done that. I always ended up right where I left off mostly sooner than later.

You will build self esteem muscles if you do what you say you are going to do...as long as it falls on the side of doing what's best for you. Feels good to take care of yourself. I love it!

Now..take care of yourself. Eat something, take a nap, decide you will not drink and you are going to enjoy your time with your family over a lovely meal....and wake up tomorrow with a sense of pride that having a drink tonight ain't going to give you.

You can do it!

How about just staying home and making a meal? Or order carry out/delivery? If you are truly tired and at the point of thinking "one won't hurt", do you really feel you should be testing your resolve in a situation where alcohol will be available and freely offered to you with your meal?

Remember that people on here are probably thinking about your post and wondering how you're doing, and hoping you're okay, maybe that could help?

Congratulations on making it through to the far side of the mine field! Put this experience in your vault and know that you can do it -- but don't take unnecessary risks.

Next time, take a nap and have a snack first!

Nap and nibbles would have been good but was helping family issues and then watching fireworks display for bonfire night. Xx
