I'm sorry coffeenotbooze.

I really had to acknowledge the necessity to doing things differently once I was sober - in early recovery, putting myself in a situation where I'm surrounded by drinkers and there's no escape would have ended for me like it did for you.

Are you back home now?

Hey Coffeenotbooze-

Sorry to hear it as well. I recall your post from when you were planning on going.

I also had to come to terms with doing things differently. I think it's just what people like us need to do, at least when we're pretty new to the whole sobriety thing. This is something that really takes an effort, so I try not to 'tease' myself too much with my old ways.

Perhaps this can just be a learning lesson, and tomorrow will be a fresh start.

Yup, lots of changes are necessary for early recovery to work.

I'm glad you're back.

So what did you learn? Figure out what went wrong and make a plan so it doesn't happen again.

What a shame, Coffee...

I've had dozens of day ones....

Everything is a learning curve, dust off, start again.

It's not really surprising is it? If you're fully honest with yourself.....

But don't get down on yourself. Use this as a clear lesson, use it as momentum and strength in your resolve to do things differently.

No, you didn't "celebrate" an awesome hunt. You used an awesome hunt as an excuse to drink. There is a difference.

You celebrate an awesome hunt by feasting on your kill, or getting a head mounted, or taking a ton of pics of the amazing you with your amazing dead animals.

Drinking and celebrating are not synonymous terms to be used interchangeably. They are different. They definitely do not have to go together.

I hope you can find new ways to celebrate.
