Sad News

My stepfather just started drinking a few minutes ago. he's been sober for 2 years. I told him about some people on SR and how some went back drinking after a year.

I wonder if I triggered him?

This isn't your fault Popeye. It's a decision he made. If your sobriety is at risk get out of there.

I hate being around a drunk, when I'm sober.

It's still his decision and his responsibility, Popeye. Don't you take on that sort of guilt, ok?

SR is your spinach now. Stay strong, Popeye. I know that's a tough spot to be in.

How can a person stay sober for 2 years and then start back? It's stupid. AV AV AV

I will probably have to go get him beer, to keep him from driving.

Can't you just 'lose' his keys temporarily I'm concerned that this is very early days for you and that you'll end up joining him - PLEASE don't. He is going to feel like one massive pile of **** when he wakes up after this - you don't want to be feeling like that too. Hang in there.

I'm going to stay on here a little while longer. Its 10:45 PM here

SR is calming me down. Chiffon, If I even think about drinking, I will let SR know. I only have 1 week sober. feels like a month though. I had no withdrawals or nothing.

I'm sorry you're in this situation. I agree that this is not your fault.
Drinkers drink for any reason. You know that

If you have any alternative accommodation now might be a good time to check that out - becoming the beer run guy would not be a good role for you to shoulder Popeye.
