Any vapers out there?

Crikey I'm smoking a lot since I stopped drinking. Pretty much double what I used to.
So today I bought a "Vaper".
Does anybody else use them and what are your thoughts?

I know the obvious answer; "Quit smoking!"

One thing at a time, my friends, one thing at a time.

It is certainly better than the tar and other chemicals found from the combustion of plant material. You can also control the milligrams of nicotine so to help you wean off of it when your ready. But I advise you to be cautious of the fact that you can do this indoors and inside some public areas because this may increase your overall nicotine intake. Also, dont do both as some people do who cant seem to totally leave ciggies behind. I can say for me though, I havent touched a cig in years and very much prefer vapor to smoking. Good luck!

I quit cigarettes with one. Still use it. Nicotine isn't bad for you.

Hope you didn't spend a lot. You can get started for under $50 these days.

Mine was very cheap. In US terms, around $20 with 2 weeks supply of nicotine fluid!

I just bought another vaporizer yesterday (had some cheapies, this was mid-range) and threw out my smokes. Now, not five minutes ago, I left the vape in a friend's truck, who I won't see until monday... time to try to get the cheapies to work, I don't feel like dealing with nic fit (which will happen) and possible cravings at the same time. Worst situation, I could just buy another midrange and still be ahead of the money I would have spent on booze in these four days

I quit a heavy 37-year old smoking habit in April 2012, painlessly, by switching to vaping. Yes I am still addicted to nicotine but I feel (and smell!) like a nonsmoker now.
There is a vaping thread in the nicotine sub-forum.

Big vapor user here. It is the lesser of two evils - and should be given out for free for anyone trying to quit. Haha That will never happen, but I do believe it can help save lives from smoking cigarettes.

Flipping heck, it's more like sampling fine wines with you guys over the pond.
All I wanted was a healthier, cheaper alternative to the fags (cigarettes!).

Yeah, I know.
I got way into the flavors and tech side of it. Mainly because I found that the gas station disposables or mall e-cig kits were really shite, but the good stuff really, really keeps me from smoking. I don't even WANT to smoke.

Surely you jest!

Google nicotine and see what it does to your body. Bad news!

It's always funny when you click on a "here" link and you notice you are already logged in to the linked forum.

FWIW I have given a lecture about vaping to 120 health professionals 3 weeks ago, together with a toxicologist. I think it's fair to say that quite a few people in that audience were pretty surprised.

I'm curious too, Chief!
Nicotine has some solidly verified and cited benefits. The health risks associated with smoking are primarily associated with the combustible aspect of smoking, not with nicotine itself.

Sadly, public knee-jerk hysteria too often overrides common sense, science and empirical evidence. Lack of critical thinking is sadly lacking in the general public. And....ba da bmmmm....they are allowed to VOTE.

Sometimes it's hard to find good quality e-juice for a good price so I wanted to share my source. The rootbeer with 2-3 extra shots of flavor is excellent

I also got sucked into the vape thing and have a mod now. I didn't like the start kit ones very much after a week or 2

I started vaping in january 2014.
My consumption was increased during the first 3-4 months, but it eventually settled to about 30 percent of the intial consumption(10 ml in ~ 1.5 weeks).
I have a big ass mod now, and getting some weird looks when i pull it out, but i don't care. I'm not smelling nasty, i have energy and i'm not drunk. So, who cares what people think?

I guess i could quit for good, as i have many days when i don't vape at all until 6.00PM, but i like the throat hit too much.
Maybe it has something to do with my addictive personality, because if i quit this, i'll have no more addictions and it's a little weird
