More of a basketcase since now the bar are closed & I have no chance at all f'in myself up haha Seriously though I do need to get the anxiety under control I ave a SS hearing coming up as well. I fought through things & got some things done surprisingly.

A few things I need to do tomorrow but it it is tough w\ no real support around here. Hard to explain except dad was an alcoholic & mom covered & back then that's the way it is so me bringing it up just makes things awkward so I avoid it.

Not yet; tryin' to work on a pysch thing. I suffer from anxiety fiercely. Ever since I left Boston I've been w\ out insurance or med & been wrapped up in family emergencies. 2 funerals, dad's cancer & now my mother is seriously I'll. I was going to meetings early on when I got here but got nothing from them & my anxiety has gradually got worse. Only face to face contact I have down here now other than my parents is my cousin forces me to her house once a week for lunch.

Aw..that's too bad. I was anti AA for a long time. But I recognized I need something more after my last relapse. I went to a whole wack of meetings..hating most of them. But I kept telling myself..I am only here to "connect" with a few people that ..well, I can connect with.

I found a small little homegroup. There were like 5 members. It was an easy going bunch with lots of laughs. In all honesty ..they seemed like the AA misfits. I joined that group. It is (was) pretty much the only meeting I went to...
I found "community" there.

It was my last mtg two night ago (cuz I'm moving) and well..OH man I will miss those guys. One of the group is actually helping me pack my truck tomorrow night.

AND that meeting is suddenly growing like hotcakes!

Anyhoo... if you got some time on your hands. Maybe go and try and find yourself some "misfits".

I plan on looking for one in my next town. I am a BIG fan of "community".

This one is my BEST one...BUT I need the real world support to.

I have been going through some trying times of late. And well...my "sober community" helped keep me sober through it all.

Just a thought.

Thanx but I am anti-people not just anti-aa lol I very rarely leave the house my anxiety is that bad. Hence I'm looking for pysch help. Thank you though

AugustWest, I have bad social anxiety also. I stay home. Hate to go grocery shopping, get my haircut and etc. My anxiety is the only thing keeping me from going to AA.

I'm working on what causes my anxiety though. Triggers, Issues and etc.
