Newbie here in the UK
Hi people, just wondering where people are from. I am new on here and been struggling by myself for too long and thought this might give me the support i need so i dont feel like im struggling alone. Day one today after 3 bottles of wine yesterday. I have managed about 3 days dry and then i cave in really hoping i can stick at it as i know it will make me feel better. Just the cravings get so bad and when i feel down i give me and use wine as an escape.
I used to drink wine to escape too. It worked... until it didn't. I had to learn to deal with real life without drinking it all away.
Have you considered AA? Might be nice to have some face to face support.
SR has a lot of support too, and we're always here. No matter what time of day or night, there's always someone here to talk to.

Wow didn't expect a reply so quick. Thanks guys feeling positive. Has anyone ever been able to go back to enjoying just a couple drinks or is it all our nothing one you realise you have a problem with alcohol? I don't know any AA groups where I am it's a small town etc.
I'm in the UK too veedubgirl, you are not alone in your struggle and what you describe is a very familiar pattern.
The best thing that somebody asked me when I first joined here was "What are you going to do differently this time?" It was so simple but it really highlighted why I couldn't break the cycle, it was because I wasn't trying new things! Just doing the same thing over and over and wondering why nothing changed.
