30 days sober today, checking in!
I haven't started many threads in general, but have posted in the community. I wanted to say that I am grateful to have made it 30 days, one day at a time. The cravings have gotten easier, but there are still days I just turn in early. My sweet tooth is the worst it has been in a long time, especially in the evenings, when I would be typically drinking wine.
I haven't gained any weight, but haven't lost any either. I have hives that I developed after my first week that have not gone away and I am on Prednesone (steroid) to fight them off. That has not helped with the weight, although my clothes do fit better.
Overall I do feel like I am in for the long haul. The clearer emotions, the vibrant mornings, the ability to jump in my car at anytime, to handle any situation with the kids or wife in a sober mindset. I still fight with the alcoholic in my that "one-day" I will have another drink. But I hope my pride in my sobriety days keeps that from happening. I am truly a better person without alcohol.
Thanks for all the support and communications. Purple Knight and Soberwolf, you guys are first class and I love your posts, they keep me here. There are many others as well, those two just seem similar to my thought process. I have just begun my journey, I am no where out of the woods, and may never be. I will take this one day at a time.
Thank you!

B - I feel like you're in it for the long haul, too.
That was one crazy month, huh!
So much changed within me and in my daily life in that first 30 days that it felt like a very, very long time in my life; after that time sped back up...
Congratulations on your changes! It takes a lot of intention to achieve what you just did!
I send good wishes for the next stage of your sobriety...
