Angry Stupid drinking dream last night-

I had one of those extremely realistic drinking dreams last night. In a strange liquor store, holding a bottle of Kamchatka, trying to hide it from my gf....I even felt a little hungover when I woke up. Yuck.

I had one about a month ago. I was on a boat, sneaking drinks and right at the end of the dream I got busted by my family and friends.

I too felt hungover and it took me a few minutes to go back over things and realise that I had got off the couch after a cup of tea and gone to bed at 10pm sober.

Bloody alcoholic brain

Bummer. I hate realistic dreams. 15 years ago I dreamt my son was hit by a car in the street. The car was a cream colored Chevrolet Chevette wagon. It was so real it freaked me out for a long time.

Moral of the story, it never came true nor anything even close. Although I never took my eyes off my son when he was near a street. In retrospect, probably a good thing.

Be well.

Timely thread. I had a really devastating drinking dream last night myself. I dreamed I went to a strip bar (I don't know why! I don't really go to strip bars!) and had like four drinks. It was so weird; in the dream I recall being disappointed, but in the dream I had drank those drinks just on reflex, not even really noticing until the fourth one. In the dream I was crestfallen and really disappointed in myself. It was a great relief to find I was sober when I woke up!

I had an absolutely bizarre dream last night that I believe was about drinking in that weird surreal dream way. I dreamt I was compulsively swallowing earrings and I couldn't stop even though I knew I was destroying my body. Then at the end I felt nauseous like I used to in the mornings after hard liquor. I woke up and also felt hungover. Super vivid and super strange!

I never put much store in dreams myself, August. I still dream of high school...but I have no desire to go back there
As long as you're sober when you're awake you're doing great

I didn't have a dream until I quit drinking! Recently my dreams are so vivid that I wake up thinking to myself (did that happen). Just remember it's only a dream.

Those dreams can be hard to shake and they do seem so real. I have had a couple and woke up feeling fear and it took a while for that feeling to leave.

Once I got past it I was so grateful it was just a dream.

I had some drinking dreams not long after I quit, but haven't had any for a while now.

Just a dream. Doesn't mean squat. Carry on with awake life.

Still have them on occasion - usually attribute them to stress. But, yes - very real and sort of feel hung over when I first awake. It takes me minute to know it was only a dream......

For me, I think they are healthy - a vigilant reminder I suppose!

Had my first one last week. Seemed so real it took a while once I woke up to convince myself I hadn't had a drink. Still felt guilty all day for some reason.

Hate those things!
