Something happened to me tonight.

You see, whenever I'm struggling to sleep, I imagine myself in a world where I could do whatever I want, if i lived in a world without consequences. So I'd say what I wanted to certain people, that kind of thing.

And until today, every time, my thoughts have always included drinking and smoking.

But not today.

Today I thought about drinking and smoking if I could, and I just felt vaguely bored and disgusted. For the first time in many, many years, I truly didn't want to drink in any world.

It's a wonderful feeling, like a chain has finally been removed.

I'm not going to kid myself, sometimes I will still want to drink. But it's fading. The beast is loosing its grip.

No relapse, no surrender.

Like Magellan I am also staying cautious but it IS a really good feeling when the obsession becomes less and less strong. I'm getting there too. Happy for you Tom
