hello i'm new

Hello,
I'm new to this site. This is my first post so i really don't know what to say. I'm 24 years old and recovering from alcohol. I have been wanting to quit for a while now but kept making excuses. So now i have to quit or go to jail.

Hey topaz10, welcome!

It's great that you've come to realize that there's a problem, and have taken steps to correct it. You're tackling this at 24 as well, which is huge. I think we all know in our hearts that we'll need to stop sooner or later, so it's great that you've opted for 'sooner.'

In all honesty, although drinking seems like fun and games in the beginning, if you allow it to carry on for too long (like I did, unfortunately), nothing good will come of it.

Nice job!

Welcome to the site.

Alcohol will take everything from you if you don't stop. There are many stories here to attest to that.

It offers nothing in return.

Thank you for the encouragement. But unfortunately at the age of 24 I have taken drinking to far. I'm just hoping to build off the destruction that I have caused.

You can do it now, at 24 years old and it will change your entire life. I'd give a limb to be able to quit at your age. You have an incredible opportunity. Don't waste one more day.

Welcome topaz. Good luck with your recovery

I needed top go to jail for it to finally sink in.

May not feel like it today, but sobriety just gets better and better.

My BEST!!

Welcome!!!

I say QUIT! Jail sucks!!! If you go to jail you have to quit anyway so you may as well be FREE and quit!

Good Luck!
