New to SR, 11 Months and scared

I am 11 months sober today. I am new to SR. I know 1 year is a scary time in recovery. I amtrying to reach out and find more support in recovery. I am grateful for the last few momonths but I am afraid of losing it if i get complacent. Trying to focus on the big picture., it's hard when each day is struggle. Any help to get me thru?

Welcome! And big congrats on reaching 11 months sober.

When I was in my first year, it helped to just focus on today. Not worry so much about the future, just live in the moment. (I took lessons from my dogs and cats on 'living in the moment')

Hi Hopester, well done on 11 months.

Try and work out what your triggers are and remove them if possible.

Hi Hopester. Welcome to SR. I'm right behind you and will have 11 months on November 1. Are you struggling to not drink or struggling with the dau to day junk we all put up with? I don't struggle not to drink although sometimes it crosses my mind. I struggle with living life with a full time job, husband, two young kids, a house, cats, etc. etc. I feel out of balance a lot and it is hard to incorporate non drinking coping and life skills.

Coming here helps me a lot but I also have support in real life and attend AA. Do you have support?

Congratulations on eleven months! It is a terrific accomplishment. Looking forward to seeing you around here.

Hey Hopester, welcome! With 11 months sober, it sounds like you're on the right path indeed. That's something to be proud of, as I know it ain't easy.
I am trying to reach out and find more support in recovery
You've found a pretty great place for that here. I think you'll find it to be a great resource, which can certainly help you to stay the course.

I look forward to seeing you around!

Thank you all for you support! It feel good to know there are people who understand. I don't struggle so much with wanting to drink. It's just the day to day stuff, crawling out of the hole I dug for myself.

Welcome! 11 months is fantastic! Yup, dealing with the day to day without drinking (the old fallback) can be tough but you made it this far. One day at a time. Glad to have you here.
