Talking Hey all, newb over here!

Just found this site a few days ago, I'm 7 days sober today, took a very hard road to get here and almost lost my s/o and children and in the process almost lost myself. But I am here, I am sober and I'm feeling pretty good. Glad to have found this site, lots of stories similar to mine, so I don't feel so alone on my journey and lots of info!

Welcome and congrats on your 7 days. That is amazing

I don't know if you are going to AA meetings as well, but they have been very helpful in my journey so would def recommend trying out a couple. Good luck!!!

Actually, I will be, I was recently in a 5 day adult behavioral health unit because last week is when everything hit rock bottom. So that greatly helped me staying sober, only being home 2 days now, its been hard for sure, but I have a massive, amazing support system andmy kids telling me everyday, don't drink today mom. really keeps me focused. Plus my kids trash my house constantly so that for sure keeps my mind occupied and me busy lol. I am going to my first AA on Friday but today I start an outpatient dual purpose recovery program, it will focus on my depression and alcoholism at the same time, that will be 3 days a week 5-8pm. I'm looking forward to going tonight too. I also quit smoking as well, that actually has been a lot harder for me than the not drinking, I have always been fine to drink a few at home, sometimes have a few going out, my problem is I'm a binger and when I binge, really bad stuff happens.

Welcome, Fishcakes You've come to a very supportive site.

I, too, was a binge drinker and it took years for me to accept that once I had one, I was undone! But the good part of that is that the really strong cravings for alcohol only came after the first drink. By avoiding that first drink, I've found freedom and self-esteem. I hope you do, too

Great job on 7 days Fishcakes. Good luck tonight. Tons of support within in the SR community. Everyone here has been a lifesaver for me in battling my addiction.

Stay strong, for you and your kids.

First outpatient session went great, the two ladies who own and run it are wonderful, setting is very calming and feels like a home.
