Help! Im going to drink

My AV has me by the throat. It won't shut up. I'm an emotional wreck and stuck at work

Can you take a break and have a coffee or go for a quick walk?

Please don't!
You've been doing so well. Your sane voice is the one posting for help.
Honestly, you will feel awful in the morning if you give in to your AV. Scream and swear at it. Deny it what it's trying to trick you out of.

I thought we were both on 24 days? Would be a shame to throw away the hardest days of recovery. I for one do not want to go through those again. Do anything to break the monotony. Lean back in your chair and throw pencils into the ceiling tiles. cover your desk in post-it notes, just do something to ride out the urge.

Tomorrow morning isn't that far away. Think this through. That voice is promising something it can't deliver.

You're not going to drink. Tell your AV that in no uncertain terms. You're fighting for your life here, Girl. Shut that SOB down. Tonight's the night YOU win.

Awesome job for posting!! I'm betting your AV didn't expect that, huh? You've already dealt it a significant blow. Keep punching, keep fighting. It'll go away eventually. I promise.

Stick close. We'll be here for you all night. We've got you.

Don't do it CG, you will feel worse, try to stay strong, I know it is tough but the drink will not be worth it! I had a very tough day at work today and came home to find a bunch of family stopped by for dinner, all we're having wine, my AV was at me to just join in, but I didn't want to throw away 13 days, it would have tasted good for about 3 seconds followed by hours of regret. Good luck!

You can get through. The craving will ease. Can you get something to eat? Play the tape through in your head, of what will happen if you betray yourself and pick up again...

Hi CG take it from a past relapser.... you have no idea when it will stop! If I pick back up I know some sort of my chunk of life would be gone.....could be forever. Same for you!

It's not worth it.

Take a walk, stay here on SR, punch something, read anything. Just promise yourself you wont drink today and see how you feel tomorrow.

You can do this and you have come so far!

Once when I was like this a friend who knew my wishes said simply "you aint missing nothing, believe me" That's so simple and SO true!

SOBRIETY HAS SO MANY GIFTS TO OFFER. PICKING UP GUARANTEES MISERY...theres NO WAY around it!!!!

Hang in there and please let us know how you are!

What is happening? What is going on that is making you feel this way?

Whatever it is, it will not be made better by drinking.

Can you do 50 jumping jacks? Squats? Anything physical will reduce your anxiety.
