blackouts

Was wondering how others cope when their partner is verbally abusive and says your saying things that they said to you but the drunk person keeps insisting you said it and how to stop the escalating outburst?

Is the drunk person your partner? I'm not clear on what's going on...

I'm not really clear what you mean either?

I think you're seeking support for yourself and your partner is an alcoholic?

If so, we have a forum for Friends & Families which you might check out.

Here's the link to the F & F forum:

I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to either, but if it's your partner who is the drunk one questioning your truthfulness, understand that blackouts are real. They are not merely forgetting, but for the blacked-out person, the memory was never recorded in the first place.

What Happened? Alcohol, Memory Blackouts, and the Brain

Mind you this is no excuse for acting badly.
