At the end of the day, it will be exactly one week since I put a drink to my lips. Though it was only 5 hours semi restless, I feel like last night was the best sleep i've had in this time. It's also the first time I didn't wake up covered in sweat. My hands seem to be more steady than they have been all week. I'm feeling really proud of myself this morning, and though I'm up two hours before my alarm I don't feel exhausted or an impending sense of doom. It feels like my birthday. I'm going to go meet my semi distant cousin today who conquered his own very open and difficult battle with addiction. I think it will be good to sit down with somebody in the flesh to have a conversation with and be able to relate to. I don't expect every day to wake up feeling this great, but I am most certainly going to enjoy this day for what it is. Hooray !! I wish me on day 4 could have told me i'd have at least this little glimmer of hope on day 7, it would have made day 4 better. A day like today is going to give me strength when I have another day like day 4. Hooray !
