It's a Quacktastic Wednesday

Quackity quack quack quack at my house tonight!

Oh lordy, I made the critical mistake of interrupting my AH tonight, which is a cardinal sin in his book. Got to hear ALL ABOUT how rude I am, and how we will be discussing this with the therapist on Monday.

Quack!

Then got to hear all about how when my AH quits drinking "in a couple weeks," he's going to join a gym so he has something to fill his time with (because apparently AA meetings don't qualify as a good time-filling activity when one is planning to quit drinking at some undetermined point in the future).

Quack quack!

I am just subscribing to the "nod and smile" philosophy right now. I am sooooo close to being able to leave on my terms, in a way that will cause the least amount of stress on the kids.

Nod and smile, Wisconsin. Nod and smile.

Hope you're able to get to that point of leaving on your terms sooner than later do your Wednesdays don't have to be so filled with quacking

Glad you're able to see the quacks for what they are too.

Oh man, I LOVE the gym quack. If I had a dollar for every time RAH said, "Once I start working out, Ill stop drinking," I would be rich LOL

Is he talking about you interrupting him in public or just at home? Ridiculous!

I am so glad I know what it means when they are quacking. For so long, I took it personal: You talk too loud, everyone is looking at you. I don't want to hear your stories about your life, they bore me. I'm going to start working out, you'll see.....quack quack quack.....

So glad you are just learning to nod your head and then moving on with your day! Good for you! And, my AH tried the gym thing too when he quit drinking, because AA wasn't cutting it and bored him. Turns out he was going there to sit in the steam room and sauna and then take a shower, there was no exercise in it whatsoever! Whatever. LOL

It's been liberating for me to realize when AH is putting me down. For years I thought he was justified, or giving me advice. In recovery from my alcoholism I've learned the difference.

Put downs and empty promises - quack, quack. Keep strong, Wisc!
