Recovery tattoo ideas?
Whohoo! I'm 50 days today! Yes - so - recovery tattoos.
I've got a few so far, that aren't blatantly related to my recovery but are somewhat related.
"It's never too late to be, what you might have been" on my torso.
"Live with no excuses, love with no regrets" across my shoulders
A treble clef with a cross built in on the back of my arm (music/spirituality play a huge part in my recovery).
I'm thinking of getting "serenity, courage, wisdom" or "every step counts" on my feet.
Also maybe "that which does not kill me, only makes me stronger" somewhere.
Also a pheonix somewhere on my body to represent re-birth, being reborn through sobriety.
Do you guys have any recovery tattoos or tattoo ideas you'd like to share??

Google for ideas!

I like the feather with the birds in the middle, could be combined with some simple text if you like texts. Also, click "ink addiction" on top left, that page has some really beautiful images in my opinion. I like the dream catcher themes, I think that could also be made more explicitly addiction/recovery-related.
Congrats on 50 days!

I have "to thine own self be true" across my upper back. I also have a full sleeve which is made up of images that are metaphors for growth/renewal etc I have a side piece that goes from hip to shoulder that incorporates 5 meaningful images that I got on my fifth year clean. I have others that are related to my children and also a side piece that matches one my partner has.

How funny, I was just thinking about this friday night. I was looking at pinterest at tattoos. I have always wanted a phoenix...I like the whole idea of a rebirth. Plus the colors could look so beautiful with the right artist. I wanted it on my side but might opt side of leg or upper back/shoulder. I heard the side/rib area hurts really bad. I know the tat I have on the top of my food was killer!
I have the Chinese character for happiness on my ankle. I picked my ankle to remind myself to step towards happiness. Chinese because Eastern cultures put a value on mindfulness. Also, happiness is close to "glee", my username, and my journey towards personal fulfillment in sobriety started on SR.
I also have a small infinity/heart on my wrist with a peace sign in one of the loops of the infinity, symbolizing infinite peace and love in my actions.

I several tats. I made a drawing for my next one when I came back from rehab and my lost days on the southeast coast. It was a partial skeleton coming out of the sand, one hand on an empty broken bottle the other reaching up the trunk of a palm tree pulling it out of the sand. It was supposed to represent my journey. My son actually got me a gift certificate to get it done that Christmas. Never went through with it. Think I'm just too old for fresh ink. Must be turning into a wus.
Congrats on 50 days.
