Going to work sober tomorrow

For the first time in a couple months. I won't miss the fear and paranoia, but I'm nervous about dealing with my job sober. I've numbed out to everything, so now I'm scared it will all be too intense if I'm sober. Plus all the reminders of my drinking will be there. It's going to be a big change. I hope I can figure out how to live my life sober again. Nervous.

You'll be ok. It will be better sober. I used to drink on the way to work just so I could beat the withdrawals and tolerate all the bs at work That's no way to deal with life.

My work life changed for the better when I got Sober, no more hangovers, no more simply surviving through the days, it was difficult in the beginning, but hang in there!!

Hello Briar. Going to work sober is normal. Normality's good. Go with it.

The longer I stay sober, the more things make sense. Go figure.

I know how u feel, I drink before work and im struggling to not drink when I have day off from work.

Your doing what u can and I know how u are feeling and I guess it will take some used to in being sober at work. Keep trying and im sure u will get there.

good luck

Congrats on taking that step. It may be a little overwhelming at first but only bc you've gotten used to being under the influence... But in no time you will see that going to work sober is actually much more enjoyable overall. Good luck!

You've got this!

Remember . . . feelings (even the intense ones) are just feelings. They usually pass and they won't kill you. That's my mantra when things get overwhelming. Take one step at a time.

There's nothing like starting the week with energy and an intact spirit! Enjoy!
