It's the weekend, the Giants are playing, and everyone around me is drinking. I just called my mom to say hi, and she's drunk too. It's depressing. I texted my sponsor but she's busy. I feel left out and isolated. Thanks for reading.

Stay with it staying sober. You wil soon start to see some people having not such a great time, there will be many hangovers, but you will be fine and relieved to wake after hanging in for the nite. As for the giants, can't help you there, I am a Pats fan!

Hi Captainizing, I mean that figuratively. I live in a tiny little town and everyone is at the bar watching the game. I'm home cooking dinner and watching the game on tv. So, I'm alone. And boo on the Cardinals!

72 I'm home watching the Montana State game. Sober as sober can be and loving it.
WE will be the ones up and at it in the morning when those who are drinking and " having fun" now will be asking themselves why they drank!!

I feel like this is the story of my life. I have friends, and I kinda need friends, but at this stage in my life, all my friends are hardcore binge drinkers, just like me. So its a recipe for disaster.

Drinking doesn't = FUN. Think of all the dumb stuff you do when your drunk. Of course when people socialize there are often alcoholic beverages...but do you consider yourself an alcoholic? If that is the case you can't control your drinking so why would you ever try to drink to just have fun. Spending time with your family and friends is fun for me...You will learn to have fun without alcohol. Hope this gets better for you. You can do it.

Everyone I know drinks, and part of me that used to fear not drinking coz then I would become boring has even learned that its not me that becomes boring, its other people, and then I cringe because the drunker they get while I stay sober, the more I realize, crap me, was this what I was like? Was I really this unfunny when drunk??? And I end up feeling more and more like I want to crawl under a rock and stay there.

Just think how crappy they will all feel tomorrow and what damage they are doing to their body. You need to arrange with friends to do sober stuff

Not drinking here either! Out to dinner with friends and then a concert. I don't feel lonely around drinking people anymore- I'm not the one who needs a ride, spends a ton of cash or wakes up with the pounding head void of memories! It's all good StayingSober. Keep up the good work- after a while, it won't bother you at all.
