Wanted to briefly introduce myself.
Wanted to briefly introduce myself.
First, I want to say hello to the forum /site. From what I've seen thus far, I can see there's a wealth of both peer support and information, which I hope to contribute to.
About me:
I am a former heavy drinker, which usually involved either 18+ beers or more recently, a 5th+ of Vodka every day. This lasted for a few years, however prior to that I was a pretty heavy binge drinker, 2-3 times a week. This lasted for over 20 years. I've also had some alcoholic related mishaps, which included a DUI.
On 8/5/13 I stopped all alcohol and have had no relapses to date. I did go through a week of withdrawals, which included eating my meals over the kitchen sink due to the extreme shakes. I also suffered from some night sweats as well.
At this point I feel I do have things under control, although I think I could always use some reinforcement here and there. I also feel that I can offer some support as well, which is how I found myself in this forum.
I look forward to contributing to this site and sharing in some of the discussions.
Regards,
Lusher

Hi Lusher, great to have you here. There are a lot of people, myself included, who could really use your wisdom and support. You've set a great example of what can be done, congratulations on your sobriety. I look forward to reading more posts from you.
