Well - I have the cold from hell - not drinking is causing sleeping issues as it is, but now this cough and head cold is really keeping me up at night. I am exhausted - but still better than any hangover I' ve had. Day 4 is as long as I made it last go around.... feeling confident I will get to Day 5.

In my recent experience...After day 4 most of the physical stuff from my drinking episodes goes away.

I think that is about par for the course. I had a stomach bug, and then a cold through about day 7. Then the sun came out and I started to feel really good. Hang in there.

I had a horrendous cold when I gave up the first time a couple of weeks ago, and broke on day 9 because my depression was really bad and I felt so crap. Don't let being ill and run down break you, I was so mad at myself the next day and then it took me another week to get in the right mindset and im back on day 1 again. You can do this

A lot of us get sick.

I think we run in hyperdrive as alcoholics - our immune systems end up shot for a little while once we quit.
