2 weeks and counting

So I passed the two week mark last night at 6 pm. So now today is day 15... and honestly I feel great.

My mornings are good! For the first time in a long long time:

1. I am not waking up and wanting to just roll back over and sleep more. Well maybe that is a stretch, but I feel more motivated to get up and get on with my day.

2. I am not waking up hung over and wanting to die.

3. I am not thinking about alcohol by lunch time and how a quick one will help me beat the hangover.

4. I am not rushing home to grab a drink after work.

5. I am not as irritable, antsy, depressed, anxious, and in a bad mood.

6. I AM helping out more with the kids.

7. I AM being more patient with the kids.

8. I AM eating better.

9. I AM beating my addiction.

10. I AM SOBER.

Good work. Keep it up! Make it into a day by day routine.

I've been there. Make sure you don't fall into complacency...I've fallen into the trap of having XX amount of sober days and thinking...drinking won't hurt this time.

It ALWAYS does.

Its really amazing what 14 whole days can do! I was never really had much fat on me, but over the last few years I def developed a beer gut. I thought it was ok because hey I was gaining weight and getting back to what someone my height should be. Now that gut is going away and I still weight a decent amount which is good. But I feel physically better.

Now today, I stopped smoking so here is to a new life of healthy choices!

Thanks guys... I am trying to keep busy and relax at the same time! But I am avoiding the distractions that used to get me into trouble. Anyways I feel like progress is made every day.

At times I feel like a new person. I like being sober. I like being me (not sloppy drunk me). At times I feel like I can take on anything. But at other times I feel like anything can take over me. But I am not drinking...

Thanks Dee. For the most part it gets easier everyday and that is cool! I feel like that corner that was so distant not so long ago, is behind me now and I am traveling back to the old me. I just need to keep motivation etc. That is why I type these little notes. Not so much that others need to respond, but so that I can go back and read them myself to keep me going if I hit a rough patch. I have read my first few posts quite a few times to remind myself that I dont want to go back to that part of my life. Anyways thanks for listening.
