What a nice day I had....

Something slowly but sure is happening to me....only on day 19 .... but i think my mindset on where I now find myself in my life is becoming one of hope and even a touch of excitement ... I know I have a long long way to go and will no doubt have setbacks ..... but I will just work through them....

Anyway back to my ... nice day (yesterday Saturday).... and all it was ..... the sun was shining, I pottered about in the morning and then early afternoon I took my golden retriever, tibetan spaniel and their wagging tails and walked over to see my mum. We had a lovely visit, she gave me some fresh green vegies from her garden, and some cuttings from some geraniums, my eight legs and I then walked home, I potted the cuttings and also some herbs and some tomato seeds. Then had a lovely long phone conversation with my best friend who lives in Holland. I had a healthy dinner, watched UK murder mysteries and then went to bed. As I said all very simple...but one of the nicest days I've had in a long time.....and of course woke up hangover free this morning ... and today I am now having a cosy drizzly Sunday afternoon nurturing myself ..... again

Fantastic, Julie, those moments of clarity and peace soon spread into 24 hours a day, well worth being sober for.x

Yes Mags clarity and peace ... what lovely words

Yes I watched the first series of Luther.... loved it. I'm a sucker for murder mysteries .... my escapism ..... really intense ones like Luther and more sedate ones like Midsomer Murders..... having said that dont thinkl I would move to to Midsomer in a hurry !! LOL!

Hi Julie, I think simple days as you described may be the best kind. I hadn't realized how much I have missed it. I am happy for you and will have my 5th sober day today.

Thank you for sharing this, Julie. What a beautiful day. I see the Midsomer Murders on Netflix here in Canada but I haven't watched it yet. I'll have to take a look. We get a lot of UK content here in Canada and nobody does murder mysteries like the English!
I saw a documentary on the formation and history of Scotland Yard yesterday. Fascinating stuff about its creation and evolution. They started it all.

Julie,
Can't think of a better day to have! And, you got to enjoy every second because you were sober! So awesome! It's a dreary Sunday here in the midwest US also but I'm looking forward to a restful, peaceful day!
Have a great day!
