Newly sober!!
Hey all, just found this forum and feel I need to have some support as
I have taken the steps to become sober and have just past my 2 month milestone!
I have not told too many people about becoming sober as people would not have been aware of the amount of my drinking I would have been doing.
So I have got to 2 months without support and it is the best decision I have EVER made!!
I have been a drinker for 25 years and this is the longest I have been off it.
I dont want to ever go back to the way I was in my final days of drinking - I was becoming reckless and could visually see a very dark road ahead.
Over the last few weeks my motto has been: One drink is too many and loads of drinks was never enough!
I was so tired of it all. Its not been an easy road but I guess at least I am on it!

Yes, you are definitely on the road! Two months is fantastic, especially on your own! Now that you're here, it'll be even better--there's lots of support, inspiration, encouragement, and camaraderie here! Welcome!

Seems I've heard that motto, words to live (or die) by for sure!!
Glad you're here!
Welcome Waterwaver. A tip you might can use: Never leave this forum completely. 4 years ago I found the forum and the support of the good folks here got me drink free. After 3 or 4 months I quit visiting and after a year of sobriety I relapsed. 3 more years of on and off drinking and I have returned never to leave again.
It's amazing to me that you've made it for 2 months with no support at all.

I really hope I continue.... My partner still drinks tho and not being on the same wave-length is very hard!

Welcome to SR and congrats on the 2 months. You must be feeling great!
I quit smoking at 37 and now drinking at 43. And I think I'm a bit stubborn about certain things. Glad that you have found us.
