My sleep schedule is usually messed up the first week of sobriety, but then it tends to normalize.

It takes some time for your mind and body to adjust. You will both get there.

Im still having sleep issues at day 59 but I think its more of a responsibility issue than biological. Alcohol always put me to sleep like a baby.. err drunk baby. Quiting was the first step for me and now working on basic life responsibilty tasks like going to bed on time is up.

Quiting is the best thing I have ever done. Now I can focus on my life and how I want to live. So amazing. I had no idea my growth was on an evolutional halt to this degree.

After a few weeks though it will get much easier to stay asleep.

Good luck!! Everything gets better!

I had a horrible time sleeping after I quit but eventually it normalized. I have to be vigilant about curtailing caffeine consumption though or I'm up all night.

It took me quite a while to get a somewhat normal sleep pattern. I have learned to try to stop my caffeine intake before 3:00 in the afternoon and turn the TV and the computer off.
Come to think of it I didn't sleep before, I passed out.
I'd rather be a little tired than have a raging hangover.

I have wonderful sleep now...but the first 2 or 3 weeks I couldn't sleep well at all. I just hung in there, drank sleepy time tea and eventually the insomnia ceased to exist. thank goodness!

It is hard to sleep when coming off the drugs. It took me awhile to be able to sleep. I had to listen to music with headphones just to relax my brain, so I could fall asleep. Hang in there and just be patient with yourself.

I found drinking lots of water helped detoxed me. Also herbal tea is good too.

Good luck

Hi, we are all different so our bodies react differently. But once your body settles down, knows it's not getting booze to pass out and repairs itself, sleep is blissful.
