Speaking of HOPE! :)
Speaking of HOPE! :)
So, howdy, y'all.
I got the part-time job as a home health caregiver. I'll be transporting the elderly-er to and from doctor's appointments, grocery store, etc., plus doing some cooking and overnight stays, to ensure they can get to the bathroom and whatnot.
It's minimum wage, it's part-time, it's not even an industry I thought I'd ever like to even put on a resume, but it's something. Not my will, but obviously my will got me nowhere fast, so I'm practicing letting go.
It's also caring for others, so that should help me stay out of my head some.
Just thought I'd share that - I don't know whether to be excited, nervous, worried - lol. I'm just going to "BE" about it.
Orientation tomorrow morning at 10am. Dude, check it!

Come to find out, my friend (who is in a health-care related field) said that home health is the fastest growing job industry in the US in the last few years - by almost 20-30%! (She said she read that on Forbes, just for the record)
But anyway. It does have potential for growth (aka, dementia and alzheimer's paid education) and I might surprise myself and actually like it.
Awesome! You really might actually like it. I worked at a live-in halfway house type place for schizophrenics once. We did a lot of similar stuff, teaching life skills, getting folks to appointments, grocery shopping, etc. I love it. It felt really good to help people and I loved all of my clients.
I am so happy to read this and hope you can see too what a great turn around you are making.
