Left over vodka
I have about half of a 1.75 ml bottle of vodka sitting on my counter right now. I am thinking about drinking whatever from it and throwing whatever is left over on Oct 1. That way I have a new month to start out.
Is this a good idea or ?? I am afraid to dump it today for some reason. Thanks

Second best time to quit is today.
The worst is some date in the future so you can squeeze more drinking in. So dump the booze and quit today.
dump it and immediately get rid of the bottle - don't smell it, don't feel sad about it, don't pass go, don't collect $200.
If you have a garbage disposal fill up something with water and pine cleaner, run water water into it as you dump the vodka down the drain and chase it with the pine cleaner solution.

How much ketchup do you have? Or vinegar? And do you know where exactly it is? The fact that you are keeping tabs on exactly how much alcohol you have, where it is located (and tha you have not thrown it out yet) should tell you something. I always knew how much I had and where it was - it's part of the obsession we have with the drug. I needed someone on the phone to help me pour a bunch of beer down the drain. It hurt - bad - felt like an awful waste. I didn't want to do it. That beer was my friend.
Now I have real relationships with people I love instead of loving a drug. Pour that stuff out, or call someone who will help you do it. Everything - including medicines (like mouthwash) that include alcohol should be poured out when we are trying to stay sober. The temptation is just too great to have it sitting there within arm's reach... There is a point where we are literally unable to not drink - those are the moments when it helps to have a support system to lean into.
