The battle starts again...
The battle starts again...
The hang over is going and I'm gearing up to give sobriety another go. I need to try harder - much harder. I can't say I gave it my best last time and it had the same predictable outcome; drunken insanity. I really really want to be sober and I'm beginning to see how hard this is going to be...
Firstly I need to be fully commited, which I'm not sure I have been, or at least I haven't grasped the full weight of what I'm tryin to do. I think I just thought I'd be able to carry on my life and 'not drink'. It needs to be at the forefront of my mind all the time. I need to make the effort and stick to rules and goals I set myself, not just think about doing them tomorrow and put them off.
make a choice drink and be misrable
or
Get sober and reclaim your life
Took me 3 months
you can do this
were all in this together write up a plan research make regular doc apts but most of all....
Realise that alcohol is never the answer and your worth more than that

Good luck with it mate.
Ever watched a show like "Biggest Loser"
Many people think there is a magic bullet for all types of problems. Fad diets, fad exercise machines are typical magic bullet solutions for weight loss.
Going from 180 kilograms to 90 kilograms takes time.
Ten % inspiration 90% perspiration is the reality.
And getting sober is the same equation.
Hard thinking alone won't conquer hard drinking.
A good hard think is of course required, but actions are necessary beyond that.
I think this realisation is already happening for you.
Think about how ecstatic the BL contestants are at the end of the show.
That can be you in terms of putting in the work to get sober.

Doesn't have to be a battle anymore. For me, the battle was while I was still drinking. Getting sober isn't easy but it gets easier over time. I do not feel I'm in a battle at all anymore.
The turning point is at the point you decide to get sober, and stay sober. And for me, that meant no matter what happens, I do not drink. I have to remove that option. Can no longer play that card.

Firstly I'm going to get some medical advice about my mood. I seem to have developed some degree of depression/negative thinking that's making it hard for me to give a crap at the moment, so that obviously needs sorting. That is Monday's task.
No more trips to the pub should go without saying.
