feeling positive- great al anon experience

It seemed like fate had stepped in. A new Al anon meeting 5 mins from me when I could not have felt lower and more in need. I went last night after my BF drank throughout our holiday and went on a real bender once home. he's sober, back to work and feeling rotten. But for the first time I am honestly letting him get on with it. I am having time away from his chaos working on my feelings and not feeling torn, desperate, guilty or even sad.
I listened hard last night and identified with EVERYTHING I heard. It was a real moment of clarity!
I'm feeling strong today, almost like I've stepped out of quicksand. It seems so clear!

wellington1, I am SO glad you've found help in Alanon! The feeling of relief is really incredible, isn't it?

And yes, it's amazing how things seem to work out, although not always in the way I expected, when I turn it all over to my HP, just like the new meeting showing up when and where you needed it most.

SR and Alanon have been a powerful combo for my recovery, and I hope you find the same benefit.

Great big huge ((((hugs)))) to you!

Quicksand! What a great analogy. I know that feeling.
