thanks everyone

So... I made it 6 days again. And I decided enough was enough. I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me this last week and apologize for wasting your time. I know I have a problem but I guess I'm just not ready to deal with it yet. This isn't a good-bye notice. I'll still be around but.... I wouldn't hold my breath over my sobriety.

on a positive note.. I plan to monitor myself during this time to really understand whats going on... if that makes any sense. I can say without a doubt now that I'll never be a "one or two drink" kind of person. =/

You havent wasted anyone's time, you did 6 days which is amazing! I'm on day 7 too and I nearly gave in tonight and if there had been any booze in the house I would have drunk it for sure. Maybe sleep on it and then tomorrow you can carry on? I have tried to stop so many times and had so many slip ups, don't let one discourage you ((hugs)) x

You didn't waste our time. You were sober for 6 days. We're here if you need us. If you rethink this at all.

Maybe you need a new plan?

There'll never be a "ready", I was always quitting tomorrow, or next week, or after some event, but that was just my addictive mind fighting for it's survival.

But what about YOU? what do you want to do? not being able to deal with it is different from not wanting to deal with it, the former just needs a rethink on the tools and plan we're using to achieve it.

It took me a long time to crack it, but we all have it within ourselves to achieve it.

Don't let your addictive mind make the decision for you, make the necessary changes to your life to find that better place, the reason why you first sought out and signed up to SR!!

But whatever you decide, I wish you well!!

I'm really really HOPING that getting on antidepressants will make it easier not to take the first drink. I may be kidding myself but... maybe not.

Never give up Erin, keep trying something new, if your Dr thinks you need them then take onboard that medical advice.

Sometimes we just need to look at the whole picture, Sobriety isn't a fix everything in a week sort of a project, it's gonna take time, and other things might raise their head that need addressed also.

When I first signed up to SR I didn't achieve long term Sobriety, it took me plenty of attempts until I finally got there. I had to figure out a plan and what support I needed to make it work.

You can turn this around to, don't apologise for reaching out, that's what SR is all about!!

Erin, hope you decide to get rid of the alcohol, come back to SR, and make a plan for yourself.

Our feelings aren't hurt, and you haven't wasted anyone's time... we are still here to help. Best thing to do is to realize this will only go downhill. Nothing will be accomplished. And it's basically a destructive road to nowhere. Hope you can pour the rest out.

As long as you don't start insulting people, I don't see why you should leave. But I do wonder what it's like for you to ask for support here while you're drinking. Not a criticism, but genuine curiosity, though I am more concerned that you're drinking.
