Fill-in-the-blank Weekender Thread Sept 26-28!
This weekend when I find myself sober at drunk time and I don't know what to do with myself or my emotions I will ......... <fill-in-the-blank>.
When I first got sober for a weekend I was frustrated beyond belief. Suddenly a minute ticked by every 120 seconds!!!!
At times when I was always drunk I felt a feeling of doom. Unsettled. Unsure. Skin crawling stuff for sure.
These days I savor my weekends. Those in between times, from the start of my bewitching hour until my safety zone starts, are now times to really feel and take in my sober moments.
It's in those moments I now find true solace in my efforts. It's those moments that I reclaim life for all I can make of it today. For good or bad I can feel! I am alive!
If that sounds emphatic its because it is. That's the blessing that people speak of when they talk about living sober.
That takes practice. How will you fill in your blank spots this weekend??

Some Construction outside in the 89 F degree temps here today for moi, so I'll be on here at random. Then, occasional chillin' as req'd in front of the 'Swamp' Cooler I nabbed @ n/c, and rebuilt. They work well in dry CO.
There's a nice Zen Lesson in this Pic. Sometimes, all a State of Bliss requires is a stinky Slip-On, and a cool Concrete Floor. I do make things too complicated sometimes, eh?

I have a lovely weekend planned ahead! The weather here has been ridiculously amazeballs. We're getting our summer a wee late 
Friday after work, gym...a good, long session this time.
Saturday - up with the birds to hit market with my moms, breaky, some shopping than back to hers for a casual afternoon in the yard with a book, then BBQ for dinner! YUMMO.
Sunday - relax for a bit, then go for a hike with the BF and appreciate the weather again!

does anyone know where I can get a thermos for coffee that is plastic on the outside with a handle - or not - has a screw cap cup is glass vacuum bottle lined that is not fancy or gimmicky and doesn't cost over 10 effin dollars?

Friday afternoon I have an interview for a front desk receptionist position at a chiropractic office. Wish me luck; I'm only nervous because they were emphatic about "nice smile" and while I have a great smile (I think. Lol) I'm missing a molar on either side and am fearful they will refuse me because of that. I'm simply trying to live in the moment and not be attached to any outcomes. If anything, it's good interview practice.
Friday evening I have a meeting and I'm meeting up with my sponsor afterward. Then around nine pm I'm going to meet up with some old fogeys to listen to a live band (The Effinays) who are a hybrid of funk, reggae, Latin, and rock. I'm pretty excited! They have a link on their main page to their recent single. If you're bored, check 'em out.
Saturday I don't have much planned, except meeting at six pm which is an AA birthday meeting - so potluck afterward. I'm looking forward to that. I love the group I've found, the folks there simply kick A and take names, so yay!

- reach out, call a friend, text a buddy, send out flares, alerts, the whole kit and kaboodle
- log in here
- journal
- distract (do housework, etc)
- go for a drive, listen to music
- cry, b**ch, moan, wail, gnash teeth
- rinse and repeat
Happy last weekend in September!!! By golly how time flies. Absolutely incredible. October is my favorite month! I love fall.

Hello ,
thursday evening in the UK . Managed to solve a few issues today, am feeling my feet in the temporary job and think i am surprising people by dealing with stuff .
It's inspiring to have to rely on my resourcefulness, knowledge and experience in solving the issues . It's also good to be sober as my thinking is clear and i'm able to learn quickly . Tonight i'm tired but i will be sober and shall sleep well tonight and be reasonably with it tomorrow morning (configuring a new firewall ) .
Busier than i have been in a long time but that's no bad thing . Catch up with the bus tomorrow evening .
I hope all our antipodean friends are having a good friday

I'm in. I'm running back and forth today to Home Depot (long story). Kitchen project underway.
I see I am so not shotgun again. I'm off and have been since Tuesday but was sitting in an AA meeting when the thread went up. Bad form "excuse me, I have to get the bus and be shotgun."
Back to Home Depot. I will be boring you with kitchen project this weekend. It's begun! Skimmed through people's posts and will read later. But I am in and I am sober!
