Day one here we go!

After drinking since 03rd September and deciding to do this on several occasions recently, today is now the day! Despite taking my vitamins and not really drinking on the level I did before, I have woken up this morning with aching back, which I know well enough and what it is! It's my kidneys! They are screaming no! I have put on 9 pounds in weight, look tired and haggard and have less productivity at work! This is all not where I want to be!
I have very little money to live on again despite my decent salary and I have upset my partner several times with my quick temper!

This really is not how I want to live!

I have decided to take one day at a time, avoiding the pub and want to be drink free for my 35th birthday on 14th October as I know if I am not, I may never reach my 36th!

Your support as ever is greatly appreciated!

One day at a time I will choose not to drink, just gutted I have to go through the nightmare cravings at 14 days in again!

Good stuff buggirl

I am on my 5th day, when I joined this forum I wasn't convinced that I had a problem, but I am now convinced that although npt physically dependent, I am emotionally dependent. You have made the right decision and i have found so much support on this site. Good luck!

Hey Buggurl... yep, you'll have to buckle under sometimes, but like you said, it will be nice to live to an old age and actually enjoy life! I got sober about the same time as you! I've had ten wonderful years

It's hard, but you can definitely do it! I am right there with you in very early sobriety (Day 8). Hang in there, and check in often for support!

Do it Buggirl!! We're behind you! I celebrated my 35th totally sober and LOVED it. It felt great having fun w/o alcohol and felt even better the next day. In fact...since I wasn't drinking and didn't have to feel like crap...I made my bday into not just one night of drunkness but instead a whole long weekend of celebrating a great milestone!! You won't regret it!

You go, fellow Libra! This time: you know the horrid cravings are coming, so you can plan in advance how to deal with them. (Or at least survive them.) You can do it!

What makes you think you wouldn't reach your 36th birthday?

Oh, wait, I see you drank last night. So the above remark about the 36th birthday was a throwaway line?

I'm confused by this thread. Completely.
