Made it through Day 1
I posted in the class of September 2014 earlier today but thought I should say hello here as well.
It is now 8pm and I've made it through the day without a drink. I had dumped the remains of my big bottle of wine down the drain this morning. Of course I've done this before only to end up at the package store at some point during the day - but not THIS day!!!
As I said in my other post I'm also a double winner - RAH is returning home on Friday from a month in rehab. I'm anxious about the challenges we have ahead of us but I am also looking forward to the future as sober partners and parents. I just started seeing a new therapist and attended an Al-Anon meeting last Friday which I plan to continue (really like the group).
Kitchen is picked up, girl scouts and soccer practice attended, homework done, kids in pj's watching The Voice and I've got a nice cup of decaf tea.
My only goal for tomorrow is to not pick up that first drink of the day - anything else I complete is just gravy.

Hi soberwolf - thank you for the welcome. Yes my husband is a recovering alcoholic returning from rehab on Friday. He's been sober for 28 days. So we both have new paths to walk - our own as well as a new one for our marriage and family in the future
It is wonderful that the two of you are embarking on this journey together. Your evening sounds sweet & cozy. The decision has been made, day one down. For me, that's the hardest day of all.
No matter what happens, just don't take a drink, & everything will work out...
