HI AND WELCOME.
There are different types of AA groups so I’d suggest sitting in on those in your area. When I first came around I became very active in a open speaker group which went out and spoke at different groups meetings. That lasted 12-15 years and was a great experience. Presently I go to mostly discussion meetings and occasionally chair a meeting.

Most meetings can use coffee makers, greeters, clean up people, treasurers, literature attendees and other jobs needed to be done.
It’s a great way to get to know people in your area and a good way to see how things work in the background.

BE WELL

If you are nervous about going to a meeting on your own, call the local AA helpline, they may be able to put you in touch with someone in your area.

No need to do anything alone in AA.

Just tell them you are really quite shy and apprehensive. They will be nice and make you feel welcome to the meeting, the group, and the fellowship of AA.

Tell them you are a lousy speller, too. Might as well get it over with.
