September is nat'l preparedness month
I was meaning to post this in the animal lovers thread - it can moved where appropriate.
September is preparedness month. Look it up. There are tips on what to have on hand and at the ready in case you are faced with some kind of tragedy, fire, flood, hurricane whatever.
What made me think of it is the section on pets. I haven't had a dog in almost 15 years. But I had his doggy things up to date. I wonder if people with pets keep a 'get out of town quick' cache for their animal friends. Or themselves? Something to think about.
And maybe those new to sobriety can put this on their to do list. Being prepared for an emergency. Water, medicines, flashlight w/ batteries, AM radio clothing etc. Many of us spent years not worrying about anything but the next drink. Time to consider the future eh?
