The phenomenon of sobriety

The latest that I've realized.

Typically, in order to see something for what it is you must move towards it. Sobriety is the first situation I've encountered in life where distance was the only thing that provided me with true clarity.

Yeap time is what makes the magic happen.

Though us addicts like a quick fix so it's quite a difficult task for most!!

I think drinking was only the tip of the volcano of my problems LOL.

It makes sense I had to step back in order to take all that in - thanks LadyBlue

The longer I'm sober the drunker I was.

Until I had something to compare it to I just couldn't see what a wreck my life had become.

I thought that I was a very self-aware person even before quitting drinking and shortly after. I am now aware how distorted that "awareness" was and I am discovering more and more on the go.
